More Google reviews for barbershops

In many cities there are several barbershops on one street. Someone new looks at Google Maps and picks the one with the best reviews. The Spotstar card at the chair takes happy customers to your Google review page. Spotstar replies to the reviews and shows which barber is praised for what.

Why Google reviews matter for barbershops

Barbershops often work without appointments. Customers decide on the spot and compare two or three shops on the map first. Stars and the number of reviews are the first thing they see, before photos and prices.

Customers come every few weeks and are quick on their phones. Even so, many shops have far fewer reviews than they have customers in a single week. That is rarely for lack of happy customers. Nobody asks at the right moment.

Where the card goes in a barbershop

The cut is done and the customer looks in the mirror. That is the moment.

  1. 1

    At every chair

On the shelf next to comb and clippers. The barber shows the neckline with the hand mirror and then points to the card.

  2. 2

    At the till

While paying, especially when many customers pay by phone.

  3. 3

    In the waiting area

Walk-ins wait. Regulars use the time if the card is within reach.

  4. 4

    One card per barber

Your dashboard shows how often each individual card is used.

What barbershop customers write about

Barbershop reviews are short and direct, and very often name the barber. Spotstar sorts them by theme.

  • Fades, blends and precision
  • Beard care and shaves
  • Praise for individual barbers by name
  • Waiting time for walk-ins
  • Mood and music in the shop
  • Price

You can see, for example, whether long waits on Saturdays come up more often and which services go down best.

Example: replying to a barbershop review

4 of 5 stars

Clean fade from Emre, great as always. But on Saturdays you wait almost an hour.

Reply from the barbershop

Thanks, we'll pass that on to Emre. Saturdays are busy, that's true. On weekday mornings you usually get a chair straight away. See you next time.

Invented example. Spotstar answers praise right away; by default, replies to criticism only appear after you approve them.

Common questions

Does Spotstar also reply in a casual tone?
Yes. The replies follow the tone of your business. If you are on first-name terms with your customers, the replies are too.
Our customers walk in without appointments. When do we ask?
After the cut, when the customer sees the result in the mirror. A short pointer to the card is enough. Do not ask for five stars and do not give a discount for it. Google prohibits both.
Can we see which card brings the most?
Yes. The dashboard shows how often each card was used over the last 30 days, and which weekdays are busiest.
