More Google reviews for hair salons

People rarely look for a new hairdresser, and when they do, they look carefully. The Spotstar card at the chair or the till takes happy clients to your Google review page. Spotstar replies to the reviews and shows what your salon is praised for.

Why Google reviews matter for hair salons

Hairdressing is about trust. Nobody likes having their hair coloured by someone they can find nothing about. People who have moved, or who were unhappy with their old salon, read reviews closely and look for signs of good advice, care and particular services such as balayage or curls.

Salons have an advantage hardly any other trade has. The client sits with you for half an hour or more, and at the end there is a moment in front of the mirror when they see the result. That is when they are most willing to leave a review.

Where the card goes in a salon

The look in the mirror after the blow-dry is your strongest moment.

  1. 1

    At the styling station

On the shelf in front of the mirror. Someone admiring the result often has their phone out for a photo already.

  2. 2

    At the till

While paying and booking the next appointment.

  3. 3

    In the waiting area

For regulars who wait a few minutes before their appointment and have known you for years.

  4. 4

    One card per stylist

Your dashboard shows how often each card is used. That tells you at which chair the request works best.

What salon clients write about

Salon reviews often mention individual staff by name. Spotstar sorts the reviews by theme.

  • Result of cut and colour
  • Advice before the appointment
  • Praise for individual stylists by name
  • Booking and waiting time
  • Atmosphere in the salon
  • Price

You can see, for example, which services are praised most often and whether criticism is about waiting rather than the result.

Example: replying to a salon review

5 of 5 stars

Jana took plenty of time to advise me and my balayage turned out exactly as I wanted. I'll be back.

Reply from the salon

Thank you for the lovely review. We will gladly pass the praise on to Jana. Enjoy the new colour and see you at your next appointment.

Invented example. Spotstar answers praise right away; by default, replies to criticism only appear after you approve them.

Common questions

When is the best moment to ask for a review?
Right after styling, when the client sees the result in the mirror. One short sentence is enough. Do not ask for a particular star rating and do not offer anything in return. Google prohibits both.
What if a client is unhappy with the result?
They reach the same Google page as everyone else. Spotstar drafts a calm reply that by default only appears after you approve it. Offering to fix the result is often the best answer.
Will the card match our salon's design?
Yes. Every card is designed individually for your business. The design is included in the price.
